We often get the question...what kind of church is this? It feels a little Church of God in Christ, Baptist, and a hint of non-denominational. There is truth in all of this. Grace was founded in 1975 and affiliated with Church of God in Christ for many years, yet its first members had roots in the Baptist church. So you will hear Pentecostal style praise and worship, speaking in tongues- along with a flavor of baptist preaching. Yet- we also believe God empowers women to bring the word of God...from the pulpit (see Mark 16:15, Acts 2:17-18, Judges 4-5, Luke 2:25-38, and John 20:16-18).

Grace Tabernacle’s Statement of Faith

 

 

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God.

2 Timothy 3:16–17, John 1:14, and Hebrews 4:12.

 

We believe that there is only One God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and, God the Holy Spirit. Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, John 14:16-17

 

We believe in the blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ, at His return. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:51-52

 

We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious Blood of Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9-10 and Ephesians 2:8-9

 

We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation.  Ezekiel 36:26-27 and John 3:5,6

 

We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer. James 5:14-15 and 1 Peter 2:24

 

We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for Him. James 5:14,15

 

We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in the present world. Romans 6:1-15 and Romans 8:1-2,11
